Original Big 7 Mother’s Day Parade 2023

St. Bernard, New Orleans, LA.

This was my first time covering the parade. Since it takes place during Mother’s Day, I never had a chance to attend because I always had plans with family. I boldly decided to skip whatever plans my family had and go to the parade. In the end however, all the family plans happened in the evening and I got home just in time for some boiled crabs and crawfish.

Weather-wise, this was one of the hottest parade I ever been to. Like scorching hot. So hot that I almost fainted from heat exhaustion. All the water I chugged didn’t help. But luckily for me, pickles were packed for this specific reason. It perked me right up after a few minutes of eating a couple. Then I was back to shooting. Lessons definitely learned.
