Lombardi Gras
Get ready to party with the Lombardi, New Orleans!
The miracle in Miami has happened. The Saints have won the Super Bowl.
— Jim Henderson
The weekend was a busy one. Saturday was my brother’s wedding and Sunday was the Super Bowl between the Saints and Colts. I don’t remember the wedding too much other than I was one of the groomsmen. As for Super Bowl Sunday, I went to a friend’s house to watch the game. I remember bringing the whole Rock Band 2 setup to play during half time but that turned out to be a dumb idea. I don’t recall if we even played it.
Anyway, I’m not going to do a play by play so I’ll just give my top 3 moments:
The onside kick to open the second half.
The interception by Tracy Porter.
The amazing Lance Moore 2 point conversion where he turned his body in mid-air to break the plane with the ball.
Right after the game, we decided to head to downtown to celebrate.
Full disclosure: All photos predate this iteration of this site and I’m back-dating this post to the day of the parade. I believe I took these with my Canon PowerShot SD400. It still works to this day but I recently busted the screen.
Then over a week later, it was time for Lombardi Gras.
I managed to make it to the Lower Garden District to meet up with some friends. The plan was to walk from my friend’s office to downtown.
